His comments were criticized not only by Democrats, but by former Republican Rep. Liz Cheney, who tweeted: “Any candidate who claims to pardon the January 6 defendants is unfit to be president.”
Meanwhile, in the Florida governor’s ongoing feud with Walt Disney Co., Disney has urged a federal court to reject Mr. DeSantis’ request to disqualify the judge overseeing the company’s case as a political vendetta.
Disney filed its First Amendment lawsuit against the governor in April, alleging that he was punished for speaking out against a Florida law that critics called “Don’t Say Gay.”
