MUISE, Walter L. – age 87, Spring Haven, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully on January 9, 2019 in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Surette’s Island, NS on October 26, 1931, he was a son of the late Dennis and Eliza (Muise) Muise. Walter was a true family man. He worked hard to provide for his family and had a deep love for his wife, children and grandchildren. He was kind, thoughtful and loving, and was well-known for his joking and teasing. He was a great story teller. He made a lasting impression on so many people throughout his life and will be remembered for his kindness and compassion. Walter worked at lobster fishing with his dad and then was employed at Boston Stove in Reading, Mass. for several years. On return to Nova Scotia, he became the cook on the “Lady Janice” up until his retirement. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lucille (Doucette); caregiver and son, Gregory, Spring Haven; sons, Randall (Tammy), Greer, South Carolina; Michael, Halifax; grandchildren, Allison, Emily, Jillian, Scott, Laura and great granddaughter, Abigail. Also surviving are siblings, Rosa (Clarence) Moody, Little River Harbour and Barbara Pothier, Surette’s Island. Aside from his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Edgar (Marion) and brother-in-law Louis Pothier. Arrangements were entrusted to H.M. Huskilson's Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A funeral Mass was held at Saint Agnes Church, Quinan on Monday, January 14 at 2:00 p.m., Father Albéni d’Entremont officiated. Interment took place in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery.
