Northern California sheriff’s deputy, ‘Sandlot’ star’s mother found dead in her home, boyfriend arrested

The mother of “Sandlot” star Marty York, who was a Northern California sheriff’s deputy, was found dead in her home and her boyfriend was arrested, authorities said.

Edward Patrick Davis was arrested in connection with the death of Del Norte County Sheriff’s Deputy Deanna Esmail, Sheriff’s Office. said Friday.

Ismail’s body was found at his home on North Shore Road on Thursday morning. Sheriff Garrett Scott said Wild Rivers Outpost Employees went to Ismail’s house when he did not show up for work and did not answer his phone.

The discovery sparked a search for Davis, who legally changed his name from Daniel James Walter in July, according to the sheriff’s office. He was found in Curry County, Oregon, a few hours away from Del Norte County.

York said he learned of his mother’s death from the sheriff’s office.

“The emotions I have right now between rage, revenge and crying are horrible,” she said in an Instagram post.

Sheriff Scott expressed his condolences on the death.

“We are all deeply saddened by the loss of Deputy Esmail. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family, friends and colleagues,” he said in a statement.

Esmail began working for the sheriff’s office in March 2021, according to the Wild Rivers Outpost.
