A recall of Janes chicken products has been expanded, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency announced Friday.
An Oct. 26 recall of Janes Pub Style Chicken Burgers has been updated to include Janes Pub Style Chicken Strips.
Sofina Foods Inc. is recalling the 800-gram packages of breaded, uncooked chicken strips from the marketplace due to possible salmonella contamination. The product was distributed nationally.
“This recall was triggered by findings by the CFIA during its investigation into a foodborne illness outbreak,” the agency said in Friday’s warning.
Consumers should not consume the recalled product. The product should be discarded or returned to the store where it was purchased, the agency said.
