HALIFAX, N.S. —

A man's body was found behind a business in Bayers Lake on Wednesday morning.

An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday on the 35-year-old Ontario man, Halifax Regional Police said in a news release.

Police have not said the death is suspicious but HRP's special investigation section of the criminal investigation division has been assigned to the case.

At about 8:30 a.m., police blocked off the parking lot in front of Old Navy and Michaels craft store on Washmill Lake Drive where the man's body was found.

That building is surrounded by a cliff on one side, a steep slope at the back and a fenced-off steep drop next to where the parking area borders the road and sidewalk.

Police have asked the public to avoid the area as they investigate.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 902-490-5016 or Crime Stoppers.
