The Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) is advising the public the emergency department at Digby General Hospital will be closed Monday, April 15 at 6:00 p.m. and will reopen on Tuesday, April 16 at 8:00 a.m.
This is due to a lack of physician availability.
NSHA says anyone with urgent medical needs should call 911, particularly if experiencing unusual symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest tightness, abdominal pain, persistent headache or dizziness, or an injury requiring stitches or involving a broken bone. For non-urgent care, please call your family doctor or primary care provider. For general health advice and information call 811, which is a service offered 24 hours a day, seven days a week by experienced registered nurses.
