YARMOUTH - An event scheduled for Jan. 19 is designed to provide women with a welcome escape from winter.
This year’s Womens’ Winterlude trade show at the Rodd Grand Hotel has at least 40 vendors signed up to provide visitors with a wide range of presentations and workshops on topics such as nutrition, travel, health, dance, beauty, spiritual medium readings.
Marlene Surette, chair of the event says this year they are focusing on entrepreneurs and are pleased to have the youngest entrepreneur in Yarmouth, who’s 11, at the show.
One of the most popular attractions at last year’s event were the free eyebrow waxing/shaping, gel nails and hair styling provided by Burridge campus Esthetics/spa therapy and cosmetology classes students.
“They did that last year and people were lined right up, they just loved that,” said Surette.
She adds that the “amazing” door prizes, giveaways and exhibitor draws throughout the day were also popular.
Organizers will be presenting a $1,000 Young Women’s grant for entrepreneurs at the event.
Entry is $5 for the event. For more info email.
