Four girls in running for Miss Valley Ex title

LAWRENCETOWN, NS - When the Miss Valley Ex Pageant kicks off at 7 p.m. on Aug. 14, four young women will take to the stage to impress the judges in the popular Annapolis Valley Exhibition event.

The contestants recently submitted brief biographies, describing who they are, their sponsors, and their interests.

You can also look for them in the Annapolis Valley Exhibition Parade that starts at 6:15 p.m. Aug. 13 from Fitch Road.

Following are the 2018 contestants:

Taylor Carty

My name is Taylor Carty. I am the 15-year-old daughter of Kelly Carty of Nictaux. In the fall I will be entering Grade 10 at Middleton Regional High School. My plans for after high school are to become a part of the VON. My hobbies include hanging out with friends, going camping, going for hikes, and doing Miss Valley Ex. I would now like to thank my sponsor, and good luck to the rest of you girls.

Tamara Pinch

Tamara Pinch is the 14-year-old daughter of Kenny and Linda Pinch of Waterville. In the fall she'll be entering Grade 9 at Central Kings Rural High School. After high school she hopes to own her own dance studio. Some of her interests include dance, reading, cross-country running, volunteering, and being a member with the Girl Guides of Canada. She would like to thank her sponsor Mark-Lynn Construction and wishes luck to the other girls.

Genna Sweeny

My name is Genna Sweeney, I am the 14-year-old daughter of Aaron and Jean Sweeney I am also a twin. I live in Kingston with them and my three brothers. In the fall, I will be entering into Grade 9 at West Kings District High School. My hobbies include hunting, swimming, photography, painting. and biking. After completion for high school I would like to become a veterinarian or a game warden. I would like to thank my sponsor L.R.D Welding and Excavating and wish my fellow girls good luck in our upcoming events.

Rachel Taylor

Hello my name is Rachel Taylor. I am the 17-year-old daughter of Lisa and Richard Taylor from Lawrencetown. In the fall I will be entering Grade 12 at Bridgetown Regional Community School. My hobbies include reading, swimming, and drawing. After completion of school I would like to work with children. I would like to thank my sponsor D’Aubin Family Meats and wish my fellow girls good luck!
