Brackenridge Police Chief Justin McIntyre was shot and killed Monday afternoon, according to a tweet from Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro. Another officer was also shot and killed in Brackenridge following an hours-long manhunt across Allegheny County. A suspect in a double shooting was shot and killed in Pittsburgh near the intersection of Brushton Avenue and Mohler Street around 7 p.m., law enforcement sources said. Pittsburgh Breaking News 4. Around 4:15 p.m., a Brackenridge officer encountered the suspect in the 800 block of Third Street. The foot chase was followed by two shootings, one involving the suspect on Third Street and the other on Brackenridge Avenue. One officer was hit on the head and died on the spot. Another officer suffered a leg injury and was taken to a local hospital. The second officer is currently in stable condition. Allegheny County Dispatch reports that first responders were initially in the area of Brackenridge Avenue and Morgan Street near Tomson Scrap Metal. Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 encountered a SWAT team in the area of Prospect Street and 6th Avenue. At a news conference, police said they were looking for Aaron Lamont Swann, 28, of Duquesne in connection with the shooting. Following the shooting, Swann fled in a stolen car on Pacific Avenue, police officials said. Police are looking for a 2014 Subaru Legacy, Pennsylvania license plate GMA8620, that was last seen in the 1100 block of Pacific Ave. Several roads in Brackenridge have been closed in response.
