DRHS soccer teams tie Middleton

Digby Regional had two ties and a loss in the first week of high school soccer season.

The DRHS junior girls hosted Bridgetown to a  2-2 tie on Thursday night, Sept. 18. Meadow Carman and Aleigha Andrews scored for Digby.

Bridgetown scored first, Carman tied it up and Andrews put Digby in the lead until the very end of the second half.

The junior girls host Clare on Thursday, Sept. 25.

The senior girls took a 7-0 thumping in Bridgetown but coach Danielle LeBlanc said keeper Lydia Ross and defender Taylor Comeau both had great games.

The senior girls have two home games on Sept. 30 and Oct 1 against Annapolis and Middleton and are on the road again on Oct. 2 to Middleton.

The Digby senior boys tied Middleton 2-2 in Digby on Friday night, Sept. 19.

Nathan Janson chipped the first goal in over the Middleton keeper after a Middleton defender mishandled a long clearing ball from Adam Peck.

Alberto Gilardi was in the right place, in front of the Middleton net and behind the keeper to bank in a corner kick from Kam Neto.

Pascal Maester and Gerard McQuirk scored for Middleton.

The Digby senior boys host Annapolis next Friday, Sept. 26.

The junior boys season starts next week with an away game in Annapolis on Tuesday, Sept.  23 and hopefully a home game on Wednesday but that has not been confirmed.
