Post season soccer - Digby Tigers U14 girls play Greenwood for playoff spot


DIGBY – Digby’s U14 girls soccer team are winning their way through the playoffs.

The Tigers finished fourth in league play with four wins, three ties and three losses.

The Digby girls beat Clare 2-0 on Aug. 20 in their first playoff game. Molly MacNaughton and Trinity MacDonald scored for Digby.

The U14 girls play Greenwood in Greenwood on Aug. 27. The winner of that game advances to the provincial semi finals.

The U14 boys finished first in their league and played East Kings in their first playoff game.

Digby’s Nick Goodwin scored first early in the first half.

East Kings equalized before the end of the half and then went ahead half way through the second. Final score was 3-1 East Kings.

The U18 boys are the only other team still active this post season. They are playing in provincials Aug. 27 and 28.
