Crossfires warming up for provincials

The U14 girls Digby Crossfire volleyball team warmed up for provincials this weekend with a mini-tournament in Yarmouth last weekend.

They played four games against three teams from the Fusion club.

They lost their first game against Fusion 2, with scores of 25-20 and 25-9.

They then played the Yarmouth club’s best team, Fusion 1 and lost 25-7 and 25-11.

The girls rebounded though to beat Fusion 3 in the next two games; 25-20, 25-18 and 27-25, 25-16.

The U14 Crossfires are Haylea O'Neil, Taylor Wood, Taylor Wright, Malare Frost, Jasmine Deveau, Britney Porter, Sam Smith, Sydney Hersey. Their coaches are Sharyn Hiscock and Cassie Winchester.

The U14 Crossfires are headed to provincials in Halifax this weekend Saturday and Sunday, April 20 and 21.

The U16s meanwhile played in Provincials last weekend in Halifax. They finished 12 out of 18 teams.
