Bridgetown Trojans trample DRHS Mariners, 10-1

There was no rest on Sunday for Digby goalie Ryan Robicheau as the DRHS Mariners were trounced 10-1 by the visiting Bridgetown Trojans.

Down 9-0 after the second period, the Mariners finally got on the scoresheet with a goal by team captain Logan Carman.

Digby coach Kevin Locke gave credit after the game to Bridgetown goalie Keagan Theriault, who was able to turn aside all but one of the Mariners’ shots.

There will be little chance for rest for the entire team this weekend as the Mariners make up snowed out games. Digby hosts West Kings on Friday, Par-en-Bas on Saturday and Forest Heights on Sunday.

The following weekend, Saturday, Feb. 21, the Mariners host the Eastern Shore team from the Halifax league, during its three-game exhibition swing with Valley teams.

If it can be arranged, said Locke, there will be a game between local Novice players in the intermission following the first period.
