Men’s over 50 softball wraps up for 2012

Digby’s Don Brown Memorial baseball diamond was busy every Tuesday night this summer hosting the Men’s over 50 slow pitch softball league.

Over 20 gentlemen looking for a fun night of friendly competition and fitness came out weekly.

“We had enough men come out each week to put together two teams,” says organizer Ron Cooper.

The men picked either a blue or red chip from a can at the start of the evening to determine the teams, and then they scrimmaged until the sun began to set.

“It’s hard to find competitive sports for people over 60”, says player Don Jones.

Though a little less competitive then he might like, Mr. Jones is glad he was able to participate in the league.
