LAKE DOUCETTE, N.S. – The last race day of July took place at the Lake Doucette Motor Speedway as racers took part in Blair Penney Memorial Day. 

The stock class had been what Penney used to race in and his wife was present, along with other family members, to hand out awards for that feature race.

The next race day is Sunday, Aug. 6.

Here are the dates of upcoming races: Aug. 6, Aug. 20, Sept. 3, Sept. 17 (Fun Day). Races get underway at 1 p.m.

Lake Doucette Motor Speedway is a half mile paved oval located between Digby and Yarmouth at Exit 32 on Highway 101 (Hectanooga/Salmon River exit). Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids, and free for the “little ones.” People can keep up to date with race news and activities by following the Lake Doucette Motor Speedway and Southwest Stock Car Association Facebook pages.
