DIGBY, NS – After a unanimous decision, Superstore has been named Clare Digby Minor Hockey Association’s Volunteer of the Year.

Greg Nixon, Referee in Chief of the association, presented Superstore store manager Butch Reitzel with the Elizabeth Dunn trophy for the exceptional role the store has played in supporting local minor hockey.

“This guy and his store have helped us so much in terms of support given and funds donated,” said Nixon.

“The store helps with the cost of tournaments and also donates prizes for the CTV/911 charity game, and help make it possible.”

Reitzel smiled widely as he received the trophy.

“It’s just so nice to be recognized for this,” he said.

“It’s also great for the kids. We help support hockey so they can play. Anything we do to help with funding is good for them, and good for the community.”

And don’t expect the Digby Superstore’s support to wane any time soon.

“We’ll continue supporting local hockey for a long time to come,” said Reitzel.
