One of Wolfville’s iconic restaurants, Acton’s Grill and Café, has been sold.
Owner/chef Drew Rudderham said Monday that
an Ontario chef has purchased the business.
“Acton’s will close July 14 and reopen under a new name,” he said.
Acton’s opened in the early 1990’s, when a well-known Toronto restaurant duo, Nicholas Pearce and David Barrett, previously of Fenton's, decided to relocated.
Rudderham, a Calgary-based chef, bought the restaurant in 2003 when Pearce and Barrett retired.
Decorated with old ceramics and prints by local artist Alex Colville, Acton’s featured seasonal produce and Nova Scotia fish. It recently reopened after a fire in the kitchen.
