The torch relay for the 33rd Finale des Jeux de l’Acadie 2012 has begun.
The torch relay will begin in the host region of last year’s Finale des Jeux de l'Acadie in Edmundston, New Brunswick and will end on June 1 in Argyle, the host of this year’s Finale.
After departing from Edmundston, the torch will travel to 10 Acadian schools across the province of Nova Scotia.
This relay – thanks to the generosity of sponsor Université Sainte-Anne, says the organizing committee of the 33rd Finale des Jeux de l’Acadie 2012 – will bring together young athletes from all regions, allowing them to participate and carry the torch.
In each school there will be a ceremony to celebrate the relay and the Finale, which will take place in the Municipality of Argyle from June 29 to July 3. Accompanying the torch all along the race will be the coordinator of the 33rd Finale, Chris Frotten and the vice-president of advertising and promotion, Gwen LeBlanc. There will also be a special invited guest on the relay.
People are invited to follow the torch relay across the province on the 33rd Finale des Jeux de l’Acadie 2012’s Facebook group and also on Twitter. People are also invited to attend ceremonies in their areas.
