DIGBY, N.S. – The Nova Scotia Health Authority has announced closures for the emergency department at Digby, General Hospital due to lack of physician availability.
The emergency department will close Thursday, Aug. 2, at 6:00 p.m., and will reopen Friday, August 3, at 8:00 a.m.
It will also close Tuesday, Aug. 7, at 6:00 p.m., and reopen Wednesday, Aug. 8, at 8:00 a.m.
Those experiencing a medical emergency are advised to always call 911. General health concerns can be directed to 811, where health advice and information are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by registered nurses. The Mental Health Crisis Line can also be reached 24/7 by calling 1-888-429-8167.
Earlier this week the health authority also announced numerous closures of the emergency department at the Shelburne Roseway Hospital, also due to lack of physician availability.
