Over the last 142 years, The Digby Courier has been your reliable source of information on everything that happens in our region. We’ve shared your laughter, your losses, your heartwarming stories and everything that is special about our beautiful county.
In February, our newspaper will take on a new life and evolve to become The Tri-County Vanguard, which will be distributed to subscribers in Yarmouth, Shelburne and Digby counties.
The award-winning journalism you have known in the Digby Courier over the years will remain. We will continue to be extremely dedicated to our community and we are committed to bringing you all the news from Digby County under the Tri-County Vanguard banner.
Yarmouth, Shelburne and Digby counties all have strong community ties, from sharing industry to sharing a school board. The Tri-County Vanguard will focus on the sports, community and local news from these areas, with each county remaining well represented in a stronger, united paper.
And there’s room for more. If you’d like to share what’s going on in your community, we welcome submissions. If there’s an event happening in your community, a news or sports story that you’d like covered, send us the details. We want to continue the excellent tradition of journalism started by the Digby Courier more than a century ago.
Our website will remain active and our readers can continue to go there to find all the stories from Digby County. Telling the stories of our communities remains our focus. The new Tri-County Vanguard will provide a bigger, better package of stories that mean the most to all of our readers in southwest Nova Scotia.
We are also excited by the enhanced opportunities the Tri-County Vanguard will offer advertisers. We will provide them with the only local publication featuring award-winning, trusted content produced by the largest team of journalists in the region. Our advertisers will benefit from a product that has both extended reach and shelf life, allowing them to share their message to both existing and potential customers. No staffing changes are planned and all of our offices remain open.
The last Digby Courier newspaper edition will be distributed on Jan. 28. Starting Feb. 2, you’ll receive the bigger, better Tri-County Vanguard in the mail, on newsstands and online each week.
Our team is very excited to enter this new phase and will continue to be your source of rich and reliable local information. You can continue to send us your content at email@example.com or visit us at our office located at 124 Water St. in Digby.
