UPDATED March 9 with total monies raised for Foodbank.

The DRHS Teachers taught the school’s hockey team a little lesson in sharp shooting.

The DRHS Mariners hockey team lost to a poorly dressed team of teachers 8-7 at the Digby rink Thursday night, March 6.

It looked even enough after the first period with the score tied at one, but then the young guns jumped ahead by two in the second.

Heading into the third it looked the teachers were done—the Mariners scored two more goals to start the final frame and open up a 7-3 lead.

And then the lessons began.

Mr. Saulnier taught the first semester of Hattrick 101 and then Mr. McNeill took over that class and added a pop quiz on Winning Goals with under Two Minutes to Go.

Joey Amero led a study class on Tying Goals on the Penalty Shot though the students in that session had a lot of questions about the Art of the Dive and Selling the Performance.

Myles Creighton got an A for his two goals and an assist, Peter Janson, Ryan Doucette and Bryceon Wade (playing out) all got a B+ for their work earning two assists each.

Noah Thomas, Dylan Melanson, Chris Demaine all got B with a goal each.

Digby Area Recreation donated the ice time, Grant Creighton paid for the referees and Walmart matched the $500 raised at the door plus donations from the teachers so that altogether they raised over $1000 for the Foodbank plus a large hamper of food.
