Brave souls wanted for 17th Annual Digby Neck Polar Bear Dip

SANDY COVE, N.S. – The 17th annual Digby Neck Polar Bear Dip will be held January 1, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. (high tide is 10 a.m.) in Sandy Cove, at St. Mary's Bay beach.

At the request of Janet McNeill, Digby Neck Polar Bear Dip President, and her family, this year organizers will collect donations for Digby/Clare Home Care in memory of Glenda McNeill.

Glenda was Janet's mom and the former loved teacher and principal of Barton and Digby Neck Schools. Glenda passed away, after a very long struggle with cancer, on December 24, 2017.

To support Janet in the organizing of the Dip this year, the McNeill family asks Digby Neck friends to please come together and help with the organizing and cooking.

The traditional levy following the dip will be held at the Kelly’s home in Little River. If you are able to help or require further information, please contact Anna-Marie at 902-834-2370 or anna-marie.mackenzie-kelly@mail.mcgill.ca.
