Breaking Waves Film and Music Festival goes Aug. 4 and 5

FREEPORT, DIGBY COUNTY, N.S. – There will be films to be watched and music to be heard during the second annual Breaking Waves Festival in Freeport this Friday and Saturday (Aug. 4 and 5).

The Film Festival opens Friday night (Aug. 4) at the Freeport Community Hall at 7 p.m. with the opening gala and awards presentation. The films of the winners from each category will be screened during the event. Screenings will also be held on Saturday from 12 to 9 p.m.

The Music Festival opens Saturday, Aug. 5 in the Freeport Ball  Field from 12 noon to 9:30pm. This year’s festival features a fantastic line-up of Nova Scotia musicians, artists and performers. Also located in the field will be a variety of delicious foods served by local vendors, local artists will display and sell their work, a beer garden, and Kids Zone.

Admission is by free will donation. The Breaking Waves Festival is a family-friendly event, that will go on rain or shine. Three large tents will be set up in the field to provide shelter from whatever Mother Nature decides to bring.  Participants are reminded to bring a chair or blanket.
