The senior girls soccer team at Digby Regional High School scraped out a 1-1 tie last night in a home game against Annapolis West Education Centre.

It was the second exhibition game in the past week against AWEC. The first was won 3-1 by the Digby Lady Mariners, but loose play and a little over-confidence became factors in the return match.

The AWEC team is also stronger than in previous years, says Digby assistant coach Meredith Alexander.

The Lady Mariners, who last year won the Nova Scotia Division 3 championship, begin their season next week. All but two of last year’s starters are still with the squad, says coach Harold Alexander.
