The team, led by Digby’s Eric Locke, started Thursday’s round tied for third spot with Ontario but struggled in strong winds and dropped three spots to finish the competition 11 strokes back from the medal podium.
However, individual competition continues today, with Locke advancing to the final round.
Locke finished Thursday tied for ninth place after carding a 78 and a three-round total of 224 that left him five strokes back from the medal podium. His opening round 69 was followed by a 77 on Wednesday.
The team competition was won by British Columbia, which took its second gold medal after finishing with a three-day team total of 429. Quebec took the silver with a total of 434, while Ontario took the bronze.
Nova Scotia team misses medal, Locke advances in golf competition
Nova Scotia's male golf team finished in seventh place Thursday at the Canada Summer Games in Prince Edward Island.
