Wagner earns a hattrick plus

Kiersten Wagner scored four goals to lead the senior girls soccer Mariners to their first win this season.

The Digby girls beat Clare 7-2 in Digby on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 4.

Wagner had the only three goals of the first half and deflected a corner late in the second to make it 5-1 Digby.

Christine McNeil launched a rocket from 25 yards out for the first goal of the second half.

Haley Lombard scored twice for Clare and Emily Theriault scored twice for Digby.

The win improved Digby to 1-1 after a 2-0 loss to Bridgetown on Sept. 18.

The girls play again in Digby on Tuesday, Oct. 9 and Thursday, Oct. 11.
