Three soccer teams from Digby Regional High School have advanced from regular season play.

The senior girls’ team are scheduled to play at home Tuesday at 4 p.m. against Bridgetown.

“If we win we will be hosting Regionals,” coach Charlotte Frankland said Saturday. “If we lose we will be going to Bridgetown next weekend.”

The girls last week defeated Clare 5-1 on Oct. 10 and then downed Annapolis West Education Centre 6-2 last Wednesday.

The junior boys’ team also advanced to District playoffs, downing Clare won 3-1 on Thursday at home. The junior Mariners were up 3-0 and then Clare got a late consolation goal.

Digby goals were scored by Nathan Janson, Ryan Doucette and Ean Lewis.

The win puts them and Weymouth into District playoffs on Wednesday and they will have to play either Annapolis, Bridgetown or Middleton in a crossover. Winner of crossover games then represents this district at Regionals.

The junior girls are in playoff action Friday.
