The Mariners came out on the wrong end of a seesaw match against North Kings Education Centre in high school hockey action on the weekend.

The Kentville squad owned the first period, taking a 3-0 lead into the dressing room after the first.

Whatever the Mariner’s new coach Alan Griffiths said at the intermission, he might want to write it down for future use.

Assistant captain Tanner Robinson scored only 30 seconds in with an assist from Marco Pernigo.

Seven minutes later it was Robinson again who set up captain Myles Creighton along with Bradley O’Neil.

Both teams took ten minutes of penalites in the second but all the goals came at even strength.

The seesaw swung back in favour of the Titans in the second half of the second —Brady Atwater got his second of the night unassisted and it was 5-2 by the end of the second.

The third period was all Titans: Dylan Dauphinee got his third assist of the night to open the third and then a goal after that.

Even after the Titans made it 8-2 with 13 minutes left, the Digby team wasn’t about to give up.

Jajie Alaku made it 8-3 with 9 minutes left, but by then the clock was running on straight time due to the five-goal rule.

The Mariners also lost 6-1 Friday night, Nov. 23 in Kingston. Tanner Robinson ruined the shutout late in the third, with assists from Bradley O’Neil and Noah Thomas.

The Mariners play next in Liverpool on Saturday, Dec. 1 and may be back home at the Digby arena on Sunday Dec. 2—as of press time they were still trying to arrange for an opponent for that game.
