Canada East captain Michael Neville scored the final dramatic short-handed goal.

Canada East wins 4-2

Canada East took the lead early and hung on to beat the Russia squad 4-2 at the World Junior A Hockey Challenge exhibition game in Digby.

Captain Michael Neville brought the sell out crowd to their feet late in the game with an electrifying short-handed goal.

He had just taken a huge hit at centre ice, landed upside down, brushed himself off, pounced on what he called  "lacksadaisical" play, stole the puck and put it past the Russian goal to put the game out of reach for Russia .

I spoke with Neville after the game and will have more from that interview on this website tomorrow morning.
