League MVP Justin Norris scored five goals and added an assist to lead the Clippers to an 8-3 win Saturday night in the Université Saint-Anne rink in Church Point.

Corey Young, Josh Shatford and Kyle Dilosa had singles for the Clippers, this season’s Central Division champs.

The Lions’ three goals all came on power plays, and were scored by Marc Lombard, Chris Gaudet and Alex Dennis.

Lions goalie Nick Comeau was named this year’s playoff MVP, and saw more than his share of action, stopping 48 of 58 shots Saturday.

In Game 3 Friday, the Clippers continued their dominance of the West Division-winning Lions, humbling the home team 10-4.

It was the second time in the best-of-seven series that the Clippers reached double figures, having won the previous week 10-2 at home in Chester in Game 2. The series’ first game was a 5-1 win for Chester.

The Clippers’ Kyle Dilosa scored a hat trick Friday, with Corey Young netting a pair. Jeremy Church, Jonah Gould, Brock Hamilton, Justin Bowen and Matthew Lohnes netted singles.

Scoring for the Lions were Alex Dennis, Marc Lombard, Quinton Mullins and Jean-Marc d’Entremont. Comeau faced 38 shots in the loss, while the Lions managed just 24 shots on the Clippers’ Ben Bailey.

The Clippers advance to the Maritime North championships being held in Tignish, P.E.I.
