The Junior C team got hat tricks from its two leading forwards, captain Eric Cook and linemate Tyler Robertson.

For many of the Fuelers, it was an emotional day following the death the night before of former Valley player Tyson Harnish, and the injury of fellow player Logan Raymond.

Two makeup games created a busy weekend for the Fuelers.

Barrington Ice Dogs got a hat trick from Dustin Goreham to skate to a 7-3 win over the Fuelers in Digby Saturday night.

Jamie Thomas added a pair of goals, and singles came from Jordan Nickerson and Josh Rapp. Matt Garland fired a pair of goals for the Fuelers with Daniel Lane marking the other.

Chris Hersey took the loss in goal and Colby Smith got the win as the Ice Dogs outshot the Fuelers, 38-26.

In Church Point, the Clare Lions closed their regular season with a 4-1 win over the much-improved Fundy Phantoms. Marc MacIntosh had a hat trick for the Lions with Nigel Robichaud adding a single. Colton Tower scored the lone goal for Fundy.

Trevor Boardway was strong in goal in a losing effort and Nick Comeau for the win as the Lions outshot Fundy 31-23.

Fundy and the Valley Fuelers finished their season Sunday in Digby, with the Phantoms looking to improve on what has been the best season in their franchise history.

The Lions finished the regular season in first place in the West Division with a 22-5-1 record, and start a best-of-five semi-final series at home Friday against the Fuelers.

Game two will be held Saturday, also in the Université Sainte-Anne arena. Both games are at 8 p.m.

The third game is scheduled for Sunday at 2 p.m. in Digby.
