Lions chew up Yarmouth

Playing on home ice last night, the Junior C Clare Lions demolished Yarmouth Mariners 9-3, outshooting the visitors 44-23.

Jacques Lombard and Marc MacIntosh each scored twice for Clare, while Serge McCauley, Maxime Wilson, Jean Marc d'Entremont, Marc Lombard and Korey Cuvelier added singles.

Nick Comeau got the win in nets for the Lions making 20 of 23 saves.

Yarmouth goals were scored by Shayne McGrath, Matt Shay and Jordan Muise.

Stan Bishara took the loss in nets for the Mariners, facing 13 shots before being relieved by Mike Smith who faced 31 shots.

Clare hosts the Barrington Ice Dogs today at 8 p.m. in the Université Sainte-Anne arena at Church Point.
