Both Junior C teams have home-ice games on weekend

The Valley Keith’s Junior C hockey team opens its best-of-five semi-final series tonight against across-county rivals, the Clare Lions.

The game is scheduled to get underway at 9:30 p.m. in the Université Sainte Anne rink at Church Point.

Game two goes Sunday at 2 p.m. on home ice in Digby.

Game three is scheduled for next Friday in Clare at 9:30 p.m., and game four is also in Clare on Saturday at 8 p.m. A fifth game is booked for the Digby Area Arena Sunday at 2 p.m.

The Digby-based Keith’s finished fourth in the league’s West Division, with eight wins and 21 losses.

Clare, with 28 wins and one loss, has been the dominant team in both the West and the Central division, easily handling that division’s leader, Harbour Crunch from Musquodoboit.

In the West Division’s other semi-final series, Barrington Ice Dogs will meet Yarmouth Mariners. That series also gets underway today, with an 8 p.m. game at Barrington.
