Anne Balser repeats as club champion

Anne Balser carried on a family tradition, and repeated as winner of the Digby Pines Ladies Club championship today.

The 21-year-old University of Victoria student had a two-day total of 145, the same as last year, to win the Winnie Sabean Memorial trophy as overall low gross champion.

Her mother Wendy, who won the trophy seven times, captured first low gross honors in the first division with a total of 161.

Overall low net champion was Irene Hattie, with a score of 135, while the Fern Webber Memorial trophy for low gross senior champion went to Lorna Ward.

Other winners were:

First division: low net, Teresa Joyce, 145.

Second division: low gross, Andrea Sabean, 217; low net, Betty Woodman, 157.
