It may even top 2008 when he won all three provincial junior golf titles—Midget, Juvenile and Junior—and then was in Edmonton, Alta., for the Canadian Junior championship
After winning the Nova Scoria Junior championship last week in Cape Breton, Locke returned home to find he has been invited to join Team Canada in the fifth annual Stephen Ames Cup at Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club in Calgary.
The Aug. 17-20 event is hosted by PGA Tour pro Stephen Ames, and pits 10 of Canada's finest junior golfers against a team from Trinidad and Tobago, Ames’ home country before his move to Canada.
The overall series is tied at two wins for each country with both wins for Team Canada coming on home soil. The tournament uses a Ryder Cup format with four ball, foursomes and singles matches.
There will be six boys and four girls on each team.
Meanwhile, Locke still has the Atlantic Junior championship coming this week in Cavendish, P.E.I., and then membership on Nova Scotia’s Canada Games team.
