Oliver's five goals lead DRHS rout of Bridgetown

The Digby Mariners senior girls’ soccer team cruised to an easy 7-0 shutout over Bridgetown playing on home field Monday at DRHS.

Alyssa Oliver led scoring, with five goals. Sam Adam scored the other two. “The girls were tentative at first but came alive in the second half,” said assistant coach Meredith Alexander.

She attributed the nervousness to the need to get used to several new players this year on the high school team.

Among the new players is goalie Katie Porter, who recorded her first shutout with the team.
