Weymouth Midget ‘A’s went to provincials

The Weymouth Firebirds Midget ‘A’ team participated in their first provincials tournament in over 20 years.

Shelburne hosted the tournament and Weymouth was up against the home team right off the bat.

They lost their first game on Friday morning, Aug. 31 against Shelburne 11-1. Saturday afternoon, Sept. 1, they lost against Halifax 8-5. In Saturday night's game they came back from a 7-0 deficit in the top of the 7th to win it 8-7 against LWF of Fall River.

The win against LWF took them to the semi-finals on Sunday morning, Sept. 2 against Amherst where they lost 10-0.

Overall Weymouth finished fourth out of eight teams with the team from Amherst taking the gold.
