The Fuelers put in a strong effort, according to team officials, and got another solid effort from goalie Chris Hersey, but the team was outshot 47-24 by the Ice Dogs.
Tyler Robertson and Andrew Verran scored for the Fuelers.
The regular season was scheduled to end last weekend, but playoffs have been delayed to make up games lost because of weather and flu.
The Fuelers are at home again Saturday at 7 p.m. for another makeup game with Barrington, and then Sunday at 2 p.m. for a game with Fundy Phantoms.
Fundy also plays Saturday in Clare against the Lions.
The Fuelers, who finished in last place in the West division, go up against the leaders, Clare Lions, in playoff action next weekend. The series will see the Fuelers play Friday and Saturday in the Université Sainte Anne rink in Church Point.
The unconfirmed schedule sees the third game played Sunday in Digby.
