Junior basketball District playoffs postponed

By Karla Kelly FOR THE DIGBY COURIER The Annapolis-Digby-Clare District playoffs for junior boys basketball scheduled for today at St. Mary's Bay Academy has been postponed because of school cancellations.

Bridgetown basketball coordinator Mark Wolverton said that Districts are now scheduled for next week at SMBA. "We need to confirm a date for next week and participating teams will be contacted as soon as that date is made available," said Wolverton.

SMBA Stingrays topped their league and will play Bridgetown, the second place team in the Annapolis league, while Digby Mariners who placed second in the Digby league will take on Middleton, the top team in its league.

Winners of those two match-ups will advance to the championship game with the winner moving on to Regionals in early March.

Clare did not enter a team in District play this season.
