Athletes from Digby Regional High School placed second overall yesterday and Thursday at the district track and field championships at Bridgetown Regional High School.
Many of Digby qualified for the regional championship next weekend at Central Kings High School.
Other schools competing in the district championships were track and field athletes from St. Mary’s Bay Academy, Islands Consolidated, École Secondaire de Clare, Annapolis West Education Centre, Bridgetown and Middleton.
First place finishers were: Ryker Titus, discus; Jamie Rogers, 1,500 and 3,000-metres; Colton Farris, 800-m; Racheal Gidney, 3,000-m; Andrea Powell, 100-m; Holly Burrell, shot put; Jared Thibodeau, 100-m, 200-m, 400-m; and Jordan Powell, high jump.
In the division standings, DRHS senior boys finished first with 295 points, while the senior girls were second with 284 points.
The Intermediate boys captured second with 206 points, while the girls had 154 points for third place.
The junior boys, with 163 points, and the girls with 128 points, each finished in third spot.
