Locke shot a 73 today, the same as tournament leader Leon Carter of the Dundee course, who maintained the three-stroke lead he opened Thursday.
Carter, at minus-one is the sole competitor under par after 54 holes. He shot three birdies on the front nine on his way to today’s 73.
Locke’s up-and-down round of 73 began with a bogie on the first hole, before birdies on the fifth and seventh holes moved him to one-under. He then bogied the ninth and eleventh holes, and took a double bogie on the thirteenth, but managed birdies on holes 10 and 14.
The round was Locke’s best scoring of the four-day tournament, which he began with rounds of 74 and 76. He is one stroke back of three golfers ties for fifth place, and just two strokes back of two golfers tied for third place.
The top four finishers will qualify for Nova Scotia’s team to the Willingdon Cup.
The final round tees off tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m.
