LeBlanc, Karrel continue to lead at Clare

Mireille LeBlanc of the Clare Golf Club strengthened her lead today in the NSGA Women's Amateur championship being played on her home course at Comeauville. LeBlanc had another solid round of 76 for a two-day total of 149, giving her an eight stroke lead heading into the final round tomorrow.

Tied for second place are Debi DeCoste of Granite Springs Golf Club and Cathy Donald of the Ashburn Club. DeCoste and Donald carded 78 and 83 respectively to finish their second rounds with a two-day total of 157.

The top four women finishers will be selected to represent Nova Scotia at the Canadian Women's Amateur championship July 26-30 in Kingsville, Ont.

Debi Karrel from Ashburn expanded her lead in the Women's Senior championship at Clare after back to back 78s to finish her after her second round with a two-day total of 156. Maggie d'Entrenmont from West Pubnico fired the low round of the day with a five over par 77 and a two day total of 157. D'Entremont sits one stroke behind Karrel heading into tomorrow’s final round.

The top four senior women will be selected to represent Nova Scotia at the Canadian Women's Senior championship Aug. 23-26 in Parksville, B.C.
