A robber held up the Superstore in Conway for prescription pills.

Digby RCMP say a lone male entered the Atlantic Superstore in Conway at 8:32 p.m. last night, Wednesday, Oct. 31, mentioned a gun and took a quantity of prescription pills.

The robber never actually produced the gun and no one was hurt during the robbery.

The robber fled the store on foot.

Several police officers and the dog unit from Yarmouth were unable to find the robber.

Staff did not recognize the man as he kept his face covered with a hoodie.

They were able to say he was white, male, 20 to 25 years old, between 5'9" and 6' tall, weighing approximately 190 lbs. He was wearing black clothing at the time with a hood over his face.

RCMP Constable Darrell McNeil says the staff did the right thing by cooperating with the robber.

“When you get someone asking for prescription pills, and not something specific, you’re probably dealing with someone who is addicted and whose behaviour could be very erratic,” said McNeil. “You just give them what they want and take it from there.”

McNeil wants anyone with information to contact the Digby RCMP at (902) 245-2579 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). People can also submit information via the Crime Stoppers website at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca.
