Downtown Digby 5:30 a.m. Jan. 13 - schools closed.
DIGBY – Students in Digby, Clare and Yarmouth and Argyle can sleep in for a bit and help their parents shovel later.
The Tri-County Regional School Board has closed schools in Digby and Yarmouth Counties. The Conseil Scolaire Acadien Provincial has closed schools in Clare and Argyle today.
No classes at schools in the Annapolis Valley School Board.
Schools in Shelburne County will remain open.
NSCC campuses in Digby, Yarmouth and Shelburne will open at 10 a.m.
Bay Ferries has cancelled their crossings for today.
There are several centimetres of heavy damp snow on the ground and the flurries still falling now are expected to change over to showers this morning as temperatures rise to +3ºC.
The temperature will drop later this morning to hover around zero and the showers will switch back to flurries and then to local blowing snow this evening and after midnight.
In short: a mess.
A couple millimetres of rain and two to four centimetres of snow are expected today and a further two to four centimetres tonight
The winds tonight will be out of the northwest at 50 km/h gusting to 70 diminishing to 30 gusting to 50 after midnight. They are giving a low of minus 6 tonight and flurries ending in the morning Thursday and then clearing.
