Weymouth Fire Department was called in to support the Lewis Mouldings fire brigade as it worked to put out a blaze.

Firefighter Donnie Jubin said the fire was difficult to get at but the plant's fire brigade had managed to hose down most of it before the fire department arrived on the scene. "We were called in mostly for support," said Jubin. "The plant's brigade was able to contain the fire to that area."

One of the plant's forklifts was used to hoist a firefighter to the return air line in order to gain access to the fire. Firefighters remained on the scene to check the air line from inside the plant.

Damage was minimal due to the quick actions of the brigade and workers were back on the job within the hour.
