Gale warning for tonight -- winds of 25 knots forecast

Digby wharf was a busy place near dusk Wednesday evening as lobster boats and the scallop fleet returned to shore to wait out the storm.

Marine forecast from Environment Canada:

Gale warning in effect.

Wind northeast 25 knots increasing to northeast 35 this evening then diminishing to northeast 25 Thursday morning. Wind diminishing to northeast 15 to 20 early Thursday afternoon.

Digby forecast from Environment Canada:

Cloudy. Periods of rain beginning this evening. Rain mixed with snow and ice pellets late this evening and after midnight. Rainfall amount 10 to 15 mm. Local snowfall amount 2 cm over higher terrain. Wind northeast 30 km/h gusting to 50. Low zero with temperature rising to plus 5 by morning.
