Corbett works with Dr. Elshof at Acadia University and Millar thought it would be great if he could share his experience with those who could not attend the conference.
"This presentation will focus on the attempted cover-up and discrediting of climate change science and the controversies around the Copenhagen conference," Millar said. "I'm hoping this event will also spur us to learn more about the impacts of climate change and what we can do about it."
Prior to the presentation, Dr. Elshof recommended that the Bear River book club read ‘Climate Cover-up: The Crusade to Deny Global Warming' by James Hogan, and members of the book club will be at the presentation to discuss the book as well, she said.
The presentation is free to all ages and Millar encourages parents to bring their children.
There is a suggested entry fee of a ‘pay what you can’ donation, with proceeds going to help fix the Oakdene Centre roof.
This is just one of the many upcoming events in Bear River, added Millar.
She is also hoping to host a panel and film (Dirt: The Movie) with Business Alliance for Local Living Economies (BALLE) Nova Scotia along with other food security, social enterprise and community development events and activities.
