Senior officers in PPC course

An elite group of senior military officers from 30 countries have been participating in what is billed as a unique training experience at the Pearson Peacekeeping Centre at Cornwallis Park.

The senior management course, which ends today, Feb. 7, is a three-week learning opportunity for experienced peace professionals. Participants are introduced to the processes of providing strategic and operational advice in the opening stages of a contemporary United Nations peace operation.

Topics in the course included how a peace operation comes together, how the UN Security Council works, cultural miscommunication, and getting to the root of conflicts.
