Clinic coordinator Leslie Harris is excited by the new services. “Our board and our community tend to be very forward thinking and although traditional medicine will always be needed, it is not always the answer for everybody.”
While many describe these services as alternative medicine, the clinic board sees them as complementary medicine, working hand in hand with other health care professionals, Harris said.
“Our goal here as a clinic is to encourage people to take responsibility for their own health and we’re giving them different tools to achieve that,” she said.
Body Talk costs $40 right now and counseling and hypnotherapy services are $50 per hour and $100 for a smoking secession package with an hour and half of hypnosis and a follow up included.
Initially, counseling and hypnotherapy services will be offered once a month.
As the clinic gets new services up and running, it also has put in a team in the Relay for Life this year and will have a team fundraiser May 8.
The fundraiser will be a spa day including acupuncture, acupressure, foot massage, body talk and pedicures.
