‘Test Drive the Community’ is an invitation-only event at Calgary’s Hyatt Regency Hotel that is aimed at attracting people—primarily those in the geomatics and Intelligence Technology industry—to Annapolis and Digby counties. ADEDA is anticipating 100 guests at the Calgary event, said agency official Kathleen Shea.

She said the agency is seeking 12 pieces of art—pottery, painting, photography, multi-media or textile—created by local people. They should be portable, preferably no larger than 12" x 12", and weigh no more than approximately five pounds. Items must retail for between $50 and $500, and all items will be accepted on a consignment basis.

They will be showcased in a silent auction, with the opening bid being 50 per cent of the retail price that the artist sets. The total purchase price goes to the artist.
